As you probably already know: in the mountains, (almost) nothing is given to you J. That's why the sunrise at our favourite spot on the Arbiskopf can only be enjoyed if you're prepared to sacrifice a few beads of sweat and a bit of sleep. And of course you have to get up really early. But believe us - it's worth it! The path isn't too far, but sometimes a little steeper - but you'll be rewarded with a fantastic view that's well worth seeing. Oh yes, one more thing: plan to walk the trail at a leisurely pace - that way you can take in the beautiful landscape around you better.

Naturally special

  • The unspoilt nature - so take your time on the ascent and descent.
  • A breathtaking view.
  • You are usually alone there because others ‘want to go higher’.
  • A mouse that has repeatedly stolen our breakfast in recent years.

Real no-gos

  • Reaching the summit without tea or coffee :) You can get the right thermos flask and mug from us.
  • Don't oversleep - so set an alarm clock.
  • Leaving rubbish lying around is of course a no-no.
Sonnenaufgang am Berg

The summit may seem really unspectacular at first glance, but you'll be surprised at the wonderful energy there. You're almost always alone here - at least we've never met anyone. Most people continue on to the Rauhenkopf. We've tried both and decided: not higher, faster, further, but more real and intense. That's why we recommend the spot on the rock at the Arbiskopf.

Route description

It takes about 25 minutes to get to the Melchboden car park. The road is occasionally single-lane and of course there are not crash barriers everywhere, but the adrenaline will get you going. Once you arrive at the car park, a narrow path leads to the Arbiskopf. It will take you between 10 and 20 minutes, depending on whether you are still in sleep mode. Believe us, your body works very differently in the morning, so plan to walk the path at a leisurely pace and take in the beautiful landscape around you. The summit looks really unspectacular at first, but you'll be surprised at the beautiful energy there. As we said, you are almost always alone here, at least we have never met anyone, as most people continue on to the Rauhenkopf. We have tried both and decided not to go higher, faster and further, but to be more genuine and intense. So we recommend the spot on the rock at the Arbiskopf.

Incidentally, there is a mouse there that has stolen our breakfast time and again in recent years.

The important thing is to really take your time on the ascent and descent, as the path is steep from time to time and small loose stones can quickly cause you to slip. By the way, don't stress if the sky is already fiery red when you arrive at the car park, the sun won't rise for quite a while ;)
